are chrome tanned using methods improved by the Brazilian tanneries over time which yield the best quality in the industry. Ourcowhide rugs do not have a strong odor or the thin substance of hides tanned in Argentina or elsewhere.
Up keeping of hair-on hides is simple and hassle free. Vacuuming can be done from time to time to remove dust and loose hair. In case of any spillage on the hide, wiping with a wet cloth should do the job. In case of very humid environments, it is recommended to lay the hide out in the sun once or twice a month.

cowhides
we are only making use of secondary part of an animal that was raised for its meat. Our
African animal skins
are also taken legally and imported with all necessary documentation. None of the African animals are endangered species and some are actually harvested in culling events where over-populations need to be thinned.

CHOOSE THE PERFECT SKIN
Axis Deer is certainly the most beautiful of all deer species. They are originally from India and Pakistan but were introduced to places like Texas, Florida and Hawaii in the USA, Argentina in South America, as well as Australia. The axis deer, whose populations are controlled by tigers in India, had very few predators in other countries where they were introduced, quickly becoming too abundant and needing culling. Many Indian religions and yoga practices use axis deer skins for worship and meditation. Their hides make gorgeous small accent rugs or pillows.

The name speaks for itself. These are the skins of young deer. Therefore, the coloration is not that well defined and the size will be significantly smaller. Some customers who manufacture bags prefer the small hides due to their soft hair and thin substance.

These are large size skins with minimal damage which are commonly used for upholstery. One can cut a panel size of 26H" X 21W" from these skins where the panel will not have any significant imperfections.
RUG GRADE
The rug grade skins are nice in quality and appearance but they will present small holes, stitches or repairs. We call them rug grade because they make a perfect quality for being used as a floor rug or to drape over a sofa.
GIANT SIZE
GIANT SIZE are the biggest sizes we offer. They come from very mature bucks and will have substantially thicker neck areas than smaller hides. That means the neck cannot always be used  for manufacturing. These hides will often be larger than 40HX38W" and are priced according to their size and quality.
